Our handmade products provide employment for 45 women in Tard, a small village in northeastern Hungary. Matyodesign's mission is not only to preserve tradition but also to recreate it at a high standard, prioritizing uniqueness while addressing the challenges of the present day.
We've created the Matyodesign community, keeping in mind the aspirations that resonate with the challenges of today's world. We exist within an ethical business model, emphasizing lasting value creation and responsible consumption instead of disposable products. Sustainability is a vital part of our ethos, alongside preserving the values of the past. Matyó embroidery has even earned a place on UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage.
Our business serves as a bridge between the old and the new, the young and the older generations, the present and the past. Young girls, mothers, and grandmothers worldwide wear our products: the Matyodesign way of life is spreading.
